Welcome To Counseling Services
You are invited to explore services that are provided for DeVry student's academic and personal growth.
Personal counseling services are available at no additional charge to help students address the psychological, relational and intellectual challenges of University life.
Students come to Counseling Services to discuss:
- Academic Difficulties
- Friendship and love
- Transitions and life skills
- Eating and body image
- Alcohol and/or substance use
- Family Difficulties
- Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered concerns
- Loss and grief
- Depression
- Isolation and loneliness
The services provided in Counseling Services are confidential and do not become a part of your student record. What you choose to share with the counselor is protected by law.
Making Appointments
Any student registered for one or more credits is eligible for counseling.
Counseling Services at DeVry University are meant to provide short term, assistance and if additional services are needed, referrals can be provided.
Appointments can be made by calling (614) 257- 5017 or by email at mhoppe@devry.edu.
Hours: Counseling appointments are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Sessions are available after hours by appointment only.
Location: The counselor’s office is privately located in the student services department on the lower level near the bookstore.

About the Counselor: Michele Hoppe, MSW, LSW
Michele Hoppe currently serves as Counselor for DeVry University-Columbus students. She attended Cedarville University for her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and The Ohio State University for her Master of Social Work. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Ohio and has a specialization in school social work
